Sidewinder Snickerdoodles
You and your partner can mix up this favorite pioneer cookie on a rainy day and take turns rolling the dough in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. In a very short time the kitchen will have an inviting smell and family and friends will be asking for more.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter at room temp.
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- COATING; combine 1/4 cup sugar & 3/4 cup cinnamon

Directions:
• Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
• Lightly grease cookie sheets.
• Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cream of tartar. Set aside.
• With mixer, cream butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy and light as a springtime cloud over a Wyoming sky.
• Add eggs one at a time beating until combined.
• Add flour mixture, blend well.
• Roll a small amount of the dough (about the size of a walnut) between your hands and form a ball.
• Roll the ball in the cinnamon and sugar mixture and drop onto the cookie sheet.
•Bake 12 to 13 minutes until tops are slightly crackled.
Makes approximately 30 cookies.
